FileCrate
Polityka prywatności
Privacy Policy
FileCrate – File Manager & Smart Search tworzy SkRzYnIu Studio. Kontakt: skrzyniu.studio@gmail.com.
Jakie dane zbieramy
Dostęp do plików (uprawnienie „Dostęp do wszystkich plików”)
FileCrate jest menedżerem plików, dlatego prosi o uprawnienie do zarządzania wszystkimi plikami. Służy ono wyłącznie funkcjom menedżera plików, które sam(a) uruchamiasz:
- przeglądanie folderów i kategorii (zdjęcia, dokumenty, pobrane…),
- kopiowanie, przenoszenie, zmiana nazwy, usuwanie do kosza,
- podgląd plików, rozpakowywanie i tworzenie archiwów,
- analiza zajętego miejsca i sprzątanie (duplikaty, stare pobrane, duże pliki),
Sieć lokalna: komputery, dyski NAS, serwery FTP/SFTP
Chmury: Dropbox, OneDrive i inne
ReadWrite), podstawowy profil (User.Read) i utrzymanie zalogowania (offline_access).
- Usunięcie połączenia w FileCrate usuwa zapisany token i oddaje dostęp do folderu. Dostęp możesz też cofnąć w ustawieniach konta Dropbox lub Microsoft.
Indeks wyszukiwania
Aby szybko wyszukiwać w nazwach i treści dokumentów (PDF, Word, Excel, pliki tekstowe), aplikacja tworzy lokalny indeks.
Aplikacja sprawdza sumę kontrolną pobranego pliku i odrzuca plik zmieniony.
Wyszukiwanie głosowe
Po stuknięciu w mikrofon FileCrate korzysta z systemowej usługi rozpoznawania mowy Twojego telefonu (zwykle Google). Aplikacja prosi o tryb bez internetu, jeśli telefon go obsługuje.
Hasła do archiwów i kosz
Sejf, etykiety, muzyka i indeksowanie w tle
Edytor, druk i narzędzia PDF
Edycja plików tekstowych i dokumentów (Word, Excel, LibreOffice), eksport do PDF, narzędzia PDF (zakreślanie, notatki, rysowanie, podpis, formularze, łączenie, dzielenie i porządkowanie stron) oraz tworzenie PDF ze zdjęć działają wyłącznie na telefonie – pliki nie są nigdzie wysyłane. Przed zapisaniem zmian poprzednia wersja pliku trafia do kosza (30 dni).
Dzieci
In short: FileCrate runs on your phone. We do not collect, store on our servers or send ourselves any of your data or files. Files go over the network only when you connect to a computer, network drive or server yourself – and only to the place you choose.
Who is responsible
FileCrate – File Manager & Smart Search is made by SkRzYnIu Studio. Contact: skrzyniu.studio@gmail.com.
What data we collect
None. The app has no user accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reports sent to us, and it does not connect to any server of ours. The “Internet” permission is used only for the network features described below, which you start yourself.
File access (“All files access” permission)
FileCrate is a file manager, so it asks for permission to manage all files. This permission is used only for the file manager features you start yourself:
- browsing folders and categories (photos, documents, downloads…),
- copying, moving, renaming, deleting to the trash,
- previewing files, extracting and creating archives,
- storage analysis and cleanup (duplicates, old downloads, large files),
- searching files by name and content.
Your files leave your phone only when you share them with another app yourself (e.g. with “Share”) or copy them to a device on your network that you choose (see below).
Local network: computers, NAS drives, FTP/SFTP servers
- Connections (SMB, FTP/FTPS, SFTP, WebDAV) are made by you, to the device you choose. Files are transferred directly between your phone and that device – not through our servers.
- Saved connections (address, user name, password) are stored only on your phone; passwords are encrypted with a key from the Android Keystore. The app does not back these data up to the cloud.
- Device discovery: when you open the home screen, the app looks around your Wi-Fi network (mDNS/Bonjour announcements, ports 445/22/21 and NetBIOS names of devices in the same subnet) to show computers and drives. The results are only displayed and never sent anywhere.
- Encryption: SFTP, FTPS, SMB 3 and WebDAV over HTTPS encrypt the transfer. Plain FTP and WebDAV over HTTP do not – the app clearly warns you. On the first connection we show the server key fingerprint for you to confirm, and we warn you if it changes.
- “Send to computer” starts a small web server on your phone, reachable only from devices on the same Wi-Fi network and protected with a one-time code. It runs only while that screen is open. Files sent from the computer are saved in Download/FileCrate.
- “Phone as FTP server” runs only while its screen is open, only for devices on the same network, with a random password. FTP is not encrypted – use it on a trusted home network.
- “Send to TV” (DLNA) looks for TVs on your Wi-Fi network and shares only the one chosen file (photo, video or music) with the selected TV at a random address, only for devices on the same network. DLNA does not encrypt the transfer – the file goes directly from your phone to the TV, never to us.
Cloud storage: Dropbox, OneDrive and others
- Sign-in happens on the Dropbox or Microsoft page – FileCrate never sees your password. After you sign in, the service gives the app an access token; we store it only on your phone, encrypted with a key from the Android Keystore.
- Files are transferred directly between your phone and your cloud account (Dropbox: api.dropboxapi.com, OneDrive: graph.microsoft.com) – not through our servers. Using these services is subject to their own privacy policies.
- Permissions we request: Dropbox – reading and writing files and basic account info (the e-mail address to label the connection); OneDrive – files (Files.ReadWrite), basic profile (User.Read) and staying signed in (offline_access).
- “Other app or cloud” (Google Drive, Nextcloud, SD card…) uses the system folder picker: the app gets access only to the folder you choose.
- Removing a connection in FileCrate deletes the stored token and releases folder access. You can also revoke access in your Dropbox or Microsoft account settings.
Search index
To search quickly in file names and document content (PDF, Word, Excel, text files), the app builds a local index. It is stored only in this app's storage on your phone and is never sent or copied anywhere. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes the index.
Text in photos (OCR)
FileCrate can recognize text in your photos (e.g. receipts, documents, screenshots) so you can find them in search. Recognition (Tesseract, open source) runs entirely on your phone, only while charging; photos and recognized text never leave the phone – the text only goes into the local search index. You can turn the feature off in “About”.
Polish and English language models are built in. You download a model for another language yourself, after confirming, from GitHub (the tesseract-ocr project repository, raw.githubusercontent.com). Like any server, GitHub sees your phone's IP address and the name of the downloaded file – none of your files or data are sent. The app verifies the checksum of the downloaded file and rejects a modified file.
Voice search
When you tap the microphone, FileCrate uses your phone's system speech recognition service (usually Google). The app asks for offline recognition when the phone supports it. The recording is processed by that service under its own privacy terms – FileCrate only receives the recognized text and stores nothing.
Archive passwords and trash
Passwords for ZIP/7z archives are kept in memory only while you use the app and are never saved. Deleted files go to a trash on your phone and are permanently removed after 30 days.
Vault, labels, music and background indexing
Files moved to the vault are encrypted (AES-256) and stored only in the app's private folder on your phone. The vault key is protected by your PIN and your phone's hardware keystore (Android Keystore); optionally you can unlock it with your fingerprint or screen lock – these are checked by the phone's system, FileCrate has no access to your fingerprints or screen lock. The recovery code is shown only to you; if you choose to email, share or print it, you do so with your own apps. None of this reaches us – without the PIN, fingerprint, screen lock and code nobody, including us, can read the vault. Uninstalling the app deletes the vault; “Export vault” saves an encrypted copy (AES-256 ZIP) only where you choose. Labels and drawers are stored only on your phone. Background music and indexing while charging run entirely on your phone and send nothing.
Editor, printing and PDF tools
Editing text files and documents (Word, Excel, LibreOffice), exporting to PDF, the PDF tools (highlighting, notes, drawing, signature, forms, merging, splitting and organizing pages) and creating PDFs from photos run entirely on your phone – files are not sent anywhere. Before changes are saved, the previous version of the file goes to the trash (30 days). Your signature is stored only in the app's private folder on this phone. Photos for PDFs are taken by the system camera app – FileCrate has no camera permission. Printing uses Android's system print service: the document goes to the printer or print service you choose. “Set as ringtone” needs the system “Modify system settings” permission – the app uses it only to set the sound you picked.
FileCrate Pro: purchase and verification
Basic features are free forever, with no ads. For the first 14 days Pro features are on too (the trial is counted only on your phone). You buy FileCrate Pro once on Google Play – Google handles the payment under its own terms; we never receive your card or payment account details.
To confirm the purchase and protect you from modified (counterfeit) copies of the app, at purchase time and then about every 3 weeks (when online) the app sends to our server (skrzyniu.com, hosted by home.pl in Poland) only: the app name, the product ID, the Google Play purchase token, a Play Integrity token (Google's assessment of whether the app comes from Google Play and runs on a genuine device), a one-time random value and the version number. We do not send your files, email address or device identifiers.
The server forwards the purchase token and the Play Integrity token to Google (Google Play Developer API and Play Integrity API) and returns a signed confirmation, which stays only on your phone. The server does not store this data; the hosting company may keep standard technical logs (e.g. IP address and time) for a short period. For Play Integrity, Google processes app and device information under the Google Privacy Policy.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If we add more network features, this page will be updated before they are released, describing exactly what is sent and where.
